hello DOS NET again!
hello! every old buddies here!
i'm here again in Arachne !
for Chinese is not displayed in Arachne, i have to use English !
i used Arachne before, but i could not access web abroad! it used to be a big pity!
this time i fortunately tackled the problem! now i can access web abroad!
i feel extremely excited!
this time like that time, i installed three softwares introduced by Wengier here
they are MS Client 3.0, Lynx and Arachne.
MS Client was installed successfully, but i can't see any servers information.
error prompt is like this: "the list of servers in this workgroup is currently unavailable"
what's the problem?
besides, i setup nwlink IPX protocol in MS Client installation
but after starting, DOS command prompt "NWlink failed, protocol manager would not support config image"
what's the problem?
as for Lynx, i can't access some of websites including this DOS forum even though China DOS Union page
can be seen.
what's the problem? it is pitiful.
any configurations need to be modified?
as to Arachne, it's miraculous as a whole, but i was encountered with a couple of little bugs.

but it's too hard to access network in DOS.
So it is amazing to see your article here
i will have a try just as you did
can you view any text in Chinese through it?
or it should be writen in English.^^
but where can i find the Microsoft Network Client version 3.0?
i'v searched the keywords in google,but most websites push me to their registion page.
i want a copy.

Arachne gives us video not Chinese whereas Lynx gives us Chinese not video!
very funny!
MS Client 3.0 is available in DOS SOFTWARE web in http://wendos.mycool.net/
but sometimes it's just a little bit hard to connect. even though connected,
the download links are not necessarily valid. suggest you go to baidu.com to search it.
for it's Chinese engine, once you see it, it would be downloaded directly, i guess.
but maybe i'll discourage you, i'd say, now it's too hard to get data in DOS NET,
because very few servers are in DOS net even though you are!
besides, in Arachne ,we can listen to WAV songs! very special!

all search engine return me lots of useless information,most of them are articles from our site.
so i have to turn to u.

呵呵，GOTOmsdos當然是中國人了，而且經常出現在論壇中的。他在頂樓的第三句話中就說了，由於Arachne瀏覽器不支持中文顯示和輸入，所以衹能用英文了。而且樓上兩位的英文水平也的確都還挺不錯的。
也確實，Arachne和Lynx兩個DOS下的瀏覽器各有優勢，一個支持圖形，一個支持中文，可惜目前就是像這樣魚與熊掌不可兼得，我也深有體會。。

TO GOTOmsdos：
大概是對Unicode(UTF-8)編碼支持不太好造成的。如果設置Lynx使用ASCII或CJK代碼頁的話，衹能顯示論壇中的英文字符，而不是中文字符了。比如用Lynx看本主題的前面的英文帖子還行。然而，如果將Lynx的代碼頁設為UTF-8的話，由於DOS下沒有支持Unicode顯示的漢字系統，所以論壇中的漢字將顯示為亂碼。如果有支持Unicode的DOS漢字系統的話，則顯示問題就應該能解決了。
